Owners Alex and Deanna came to Abode Studios in October 2023 with a one-of-a-kind concept—a luxury floating spa experience combining the elegance of yachting with the ease of a hot tub, right on the Willamette River in downtown Portland. The problem wasn't the product itself; it was the limited awareness. Portlanders simply didn't know this experience existed, and without that foundational education, even the most interested potential customers couldn't find their way to booking. Yacht Tubs needed a content strategy that could introduce, explain, and sell an entirely new category of experience to a local audience.
Abode Studios built a content approach around the central idea that Yacht Tubs is an experience for every occasion. Rather than marketing to a single customer type, we positioned the brand across multiple use experiences like date nights, girls' trips, family outings, solo self-care, corporate events, and local business collaborations to cast a wide net for relatability while keeping the content aspirational. The goal was equal parts education and desire: to show Portland what this is, and then make them feel they need to be on that boat.
We developed and executed a consistent social media presence built around trend-forward, value-driven content that spoke directly to each audience occasion. Creative content highlighted the full sensory experience—the setting, the atmosphere, the versatility—while strategic messaging worked to demystify the booking process and lower the barrier to entry for first-time customers. Local business and influencer collaboration content further embedded Yacht Tubs into the Portland lifestyle landscape, positioning the brand as a community experience rather than a niche novelty.
